Terms of Use
Welcome to The Work Club — including our Insta$Crowd and Rent-a-Crowd programmes. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these terms. They are written to be read, not to hide things: the short version is be honest, be 18+, treat people's information with respect, and understand that we are the platform — not the employer, and not the event host.
1. What The Work Club is (and isn't)
- We are a platform that connects work seekers with employers, and members with venues and brands running invitations, promotions and campaigns.
- We are not an employment agency, employer, or party to any employment contract, shift arrangement, booking or promotion agreed between you and anyone you meet through the platform.
- We do not guarantee that you will find work, receive invitations, fill a vacancy, or achieve any particular result.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older to use The Work Club or Insta$Crowd.
- The information you provide must be true — real name, real experience, real skills, real social handles. Fake or misleading profiles, listings or reviews may be removed and accounts suspended.
- Keep your password and permanent User ID safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- One person, one account.
3. For employers, venues and brands
- Job listings, shift posts and invitations must be for genuine, lawful opportunities. No fees may be charged to work seekers for applying or being considered.
- Personal information you receive through the platform (applicant profiles, contact details of shortlisted candidates, member details for an event) may be used only for the recruitment or invitation it was shared for. Using it for marketing, selling it, or passing it on is a breach of these terms and of POPIA — and will end your access.
- Comped hospitality involving alcohol must comply with the law: guests 18+, responsible service.
4. For members (Insta$Crowd programmes)
- Every invitation is optional — accept only what suits you. If you accept, show up; repeated no-shows affect your standing and may end programme access.
- Mystery shopper reviews must be honest and your own experience.
- Creator campaigns: deliver what you agree to deliver; disclose sponsored content where the law or platform rules require it.
- You attend venues and events at your own discretion. Drink responsibly; never drink and drive.
5. Content
You own what you upload (photos, answers, experience text). By uploading it you give us permission to display it on the platform as your settings allow (e.g. to employers you apply to, on your public profile while visible, on your CV). We may remove content that is unlawful, abusive or misleading.
6. The service
The platform is provided "as is". We work to keep it available, accurate and secure, but we do not accept liability for the conduct of employers, members, venues or brands, for opportunities not materialising, or for interruptions to the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under South African law that cannot be limited.
7. Ending things
You can delete your account anytime (see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your information). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
8. General
These terms are governed by South African law. If we change them materially we will post the new version here with a new date. Questions: info@theworkclub.co.za.
